Basic Information

Site Overview

Malabar Cancer Care Society (MCCS) is a long-standing non-governmental organisation based in Kannur, Kerala, dedicated to comprehensive cancer control through awareness, prevention, early detection, patient support and rehabilitation across the Malabar region. Founded in 1989, MCCS has reached millions of people through grassroots programs focusing on education about cancer risks, organising screening camps for breast, cervical and oral cancers, and facilitating follow-up care and counselling for survivors. The society collaborates with health professionals, volunteers and government agencies to deliver community-based services, including pain and palliative care, telemedicine support, tobacco-cessation drives and free breast clinics. Its initiatives such as the Sanjeevani Mobile Tele-Onconet Project and Breast Cancer Brigade Project extend diagnostic and outreach efforts into rural areas, helping detect cancer early when treatment outcomes are more effective.
